The Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG® was shown as a concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show just two short months ago. Concept vehicles have the coveted attribute to be either greater or less than whatever production vehicle they sire, but in this case the result appears to be “equal to.”
The look of the GLA45 AMG® is more restrained than its concept forebear (perhaps Mercedes-Benz’s looks skip a generation?) having lost the rear spoiler and other racing motifs. These subtle changes look more like its staid older siblings, and leave the inner fury and angst to the engine.
Joining the prevailing technological trend of turbocharging a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to get maximum power out of the most conscientious of engines, the GLA45 AMG® produces 355 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. It’s an AMG®, so you can expect both the engine and suspension tuned to spiriting specifications.
